How to use Salonpas depends on the exact format. Salonpas Pain Relief Gel 30g, Pain Relief Patches 20 Pieces and Liniment 50ml differ in formulation, application method and the directions supplied with each product.

Do not transfer the Gel frequency to the Patch or Liniment simply because all three products carry the Salonpas name.
How often can you use Salonpas?
Salonpas Gel
For adults and children over 2 years, the current Gel directions say to use it no more than 3 to 4 times daily. Children under 2 years should be discussed with a doctor before use.
Salonpas Patches
The current Volga Trading product information for the 20-piece patch does not publish a universal daily frequency or wear time. Follow the directions in the leaflet supplied with the exact pack.
Salonpas Liniment
The current product summary does not reproduce a numeric application frequency. Follow the directions printed on the bottle and box supplied with your product.
How to apply Salonpas Gel
The current Salonpas Pain Relief Gel 30g leaflet lists temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain associated with simple backache, arthritis, strains, sprains and bruises.
For adults and children over 2 years of age:
- Apply an appropriate amount directly to the painful area.
- Spread the gel gently over the skin.
- Use it no more than 3 to 4 times daily.
- Wash your hands after application unless the hands are the area being treated.
For children under 2 years of age, the current product information says to consult a doctor before use.
Do not turn the Gel into a covered treatment. The current warning section says not to use it with a heating pad, hot compress or another external heat source, and not to bandage the treated area tightly.
How to apply Salonpas Pain Relief Patches
The 20-piece pack contains fixed-size medicated patches measuring approximately 6.5 × 4.2 cm. Unlike Gel, the medicated layer remains positioned over one defined area of skin.
Apply the patch only to intact skin and follow the application directions in the leaflet supplied with the current pack. Do not apply it to damaged skin or open wounds, and do not use it together with a heating pad or hot bandage.
How long should you leave a Salonpas patch on?
The current Volga Trading product information for this specific 20-piece Salonpas patch does not reproduce a universal wear time. How to use Salonpas Liniment
Salonpas Liniment comes in a 50ml bottle and uses a topical liquid format rather than a gel or adhesive patch. The current package lists L-menthol, methyl salicylate, DL-camphor, thymol, tocopherol acetate, peppermint oil and nonoyl vanillylamide.
Use the Liniment externally according to the directions printed on the current bottle and box. Because the product summary currently published on Volga Trading does not reproduce a numeric application frequency, this guide does not invent one.
Avoid the eyes, mouth and mucous membranes, and do not apply the liquid to wounds or damaged skin. Stop use if irritation occurs.
Can you use Salonpas Gel and a Patch together?
Do not put a Salonpas patch over Salonpas Gel or use both products on the same area at the same time unless a qualified healthcare professional specifically advises it. The formats share some active ingredients and have separate product directions.
