Salonpas: Gel, Patches, Liniment, Uses & Safety

Volga Trading currently carries three Salonpas formats from Hisamitsu Vietnam: a 30g gel, a 20-piece medicated patch pack and a 50ml liniment. They belong to the same product line, but their formulas and application methods are not identical.

What Is Salonpas?

Salonpas is a line of topical pain-relief products made by Hisamitsu. On Volga Trading, this guide covers three Vietnamese-market formats from Hisamitsu Vietnam: Salonpas Pain Relief Gel 30g, Salonpas Pain Relief Patches 20 Pieces and Salonpas Liniment 50ml.

The products share the Salonpas name, but they do not use one single formula or application method. Ingredients, directions and safety information should therefore stay tied to the exact format and package. For broader topical care and product resources, see the Health & Wellness Guide.

Salonpas Pain Relief Gel 30g

A spreadable topical gel with methyl salicylate 15% and menthol 7%. The current directions specify application no more than 3 to 4 times daily for adults and children over 2 years.

Salonpas Pain Relief Patches

A box of 20 compact medicated patches, each approximately 6.5 × 4.2 cm. The formula lists methyl salicylate, L-menthol, DL-camphor and tocopheryl acetate.

Salonpas Liniment 50ml

A topical liquid in a 50ml bottle. Its current package lists menthol, methyl salicylate, camphor, thymol, tocopherol acetate, peppermint oil and nonoyl vanillylamide.

Application is format-specific

The Gel leaflet gives an explicit frequency: for adults and children over 2 years, apply an appropriate amount and use no more than 3 to 4 times daily. The Patch and Liniment have their own directions and should be used according to the leaflet or package supplied with that exact product.

The practical differences are physical as well as chemical. Gel can be spread, a patch stays in a fixed area and Liniment is a liquid. The Salonpas uses and application guide separates those instructions in detail.

Safety points are not identical across the line

All three formats are for external use and should be kept away from damaged skin and sensitive areas such as the eyes or mucous membranes. The Gel and Patch also carry specific warnings against external heat.

Salonpas and Salonsip are separate products here

Volga Trading stores Salonpas and Salonsip under separate product brands, although both products discussed in our comparison are manufactured by Hisamitsu Vietnam. Salonsip Gel-Patch uses a much larger 14 × 10 cm patch and a different formula from the 20-piece Salonpas patch.
